JimG | Good afternoon!
I am very new to the DBISAM product and I would like some guidance on setting up access using SQL Server 2012 if possible. Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated. Windows 7 OS Thank you very much for your help and time. Jim |

Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Wellcome Jim,
I guess you meant Win Server 2012 instead of SQL Server 2012, right? Also, are you going to use file sharing or client/server? At the server side, if you are going to use file sharing, you just have to share a folder, that is going to contain your databases, and set the appropriate access permissions for the share/folder. If you are going to use Client/Server, then its also easy - you just have to install DBISAM server, preferably as a service, and make sure you allow TCP/IP connections to DBISAM server through the firewall. Please refer to this chapter in the manual about the C/S configuration: http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=viewtopic&id=dbisam4&product=rsdelphiwin64&version=XE2&topic=Configuring_Starting_Server The 'Database Servers Provided with DBISAM' section in particular explains how to intall the server as a service. In either case, you can use DBSys (Database System Utility) that ships with DBISAM, to connect to DBISAM and do your first tests while you don't have any Delphi applications of your own. Please feel free to tell us if you have further questions. -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |
