Fernando Dias ![]() | Tim,
Currently, to change a user's description we must indicate his password. Unless there is some drawback, could you make the password optional in the ALTER USER statement? -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |

<< Currently, to change a user's description we must indicate his password. The problem is that you start to run into the requirement of all kinds of new inverse clauses in the ALTER statements in order to allow for specifying whether information is present or not. However, in the case of the ALTER USER, I see no harm in allowing it to be left off in this case. We know that it is required, so if it isn't specified, then we can safely assume that it should stay the same. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
