Ralf Graap | Hey Tim,
i'am playing with Signature / Encryption in EDB. It's possible to Change it in Source for each Session using LocalEncryptionPassword and LocalSignature. That's Okay. But i found no possibility to change it in EDB-Manager Only for a Remote-Connection Not for a local connection Could you add these Feature? Thx Ralf |

<< Could you add these Feature? >> We've been trying to figure out a safe way to add these settings into the EDB Manager without compromising the security of these settings, and so far we haven't come up with a convenient way to do so. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

<< what's wrong with the way you did it for a Remote-Connection? >> It's a little different for remote sessions because the encryption password, by itself, is not going to give anyone direct access to the database table data (they still have to log in, etc.). With local sessions it will. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Ralf Graap | Hey Tim,
so you have to play with a EncryptionPassword-Encryption -> Cool Biut i think the feature is a "Must". Otherwise you have to recompile the manager for any new Version und any diffent Password you use Is it on the "List"??? << Otherwise you have to recompile the manager for any new Version und any diffent Password you use >> Yes, but this is also part of "branding" the software for your particular needs. << Is it on the "List"??? >> Yes. It's not particulary high on the list, but it's there. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
