Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | Suggestion
Global search capabilities through all procedures, functions and triggers in a database (right through the system would be really nice but I'm trying not to be greedy) and the ability to open them from the found items list. Rational Unless every usage of every table and every column is documented (hands up anyone who documents to that level - thought so there are going to be occasions when I need to track down usage and the distributed/fragmented./not really sure what is the appropriate word nature of these animals is going to make it difficult to track stuff down. Even if the appropriate documentation does exist it will almost certainly be faster to do a search and open the items found. Roy Lambert |

"David Cornelius" | As a work around, you could reverse engineer the database to a script and
search through the script using the text search function. -- David Cornelius CorneliusConcepts.com |

Nothing to clever - just a text search facility. EG say I'm pretty positive I've used the column gobbledygook somewhere and I'm changing the name to completenonsense so I have to track down everywhere its used. Or I've modified an external function and it now needs three parameters not two. That sort of thing. Roy Lambert |
