Guess that explains the lack of documentation Smile
Just curious since the Delphi version appears to ship with source: ..\ElevateDB\ XE7\Win32\servers\edbsrvr\linux-i386\source, well a dpr anyhow..

I was wondering if a Linux EDB server can service Windows EDBs?

I have not used it but AFAIK it's a 32bit command line app so you just
run it (or use the usual linux ways of starting in the background - i.e.
& after it or using hup).

It's 32bit currently so you need to also make sure you have 32buit
support libraries installed (some general steps Tim once linked to are
here http://www.maketecheasier.com/run-32-bit-apps-in-64-bit-linux/).

I have a 32bit Ubuntu VM, may try this but without documentation it goes on the back burner.

Actually there appears to be some topics on configuring and starting it
here (look for linux references):

Since it's a command line server there is just a config ini file,
executable and that's it.

IO got curious and gave it a quick try on my xubuntu vm (64bit). It
works like a charm - i was able to start the edbsrvr and connect with
edbmanager from windows host and create DB, table and populate it.

Obviously minimalistic test of functionality only but looking promising.

Yup, works on Ubuntu 12.04 Server, I couldn't use a backup from another location though. Had to run a script containing row data to create the db.

Try creating a Store and then backup a table.
On Ubuntu 12.04 I get this behavior:
- backup not visible until I close and re-open the store
- opening the store causes a '0 0 not valid Timestamp error'
- an attempt to open the file gives the same error.
