Wow - has it really been that long? I'm guessing English isn't your first language because to me <<Ten years ago, ElevateDB was dropped>> means it was discontinued. I was immediately thinking - someone should have told Tim so he can stop development <VBG> Roy |

It's a crazy world. Where I live dropped means discontinued as you said but in software terms it can also mean a new version was released. Not confusing at all. I can't believe it's been 10 years though. Time goes by so fast. = Steve |

Alan Questell Richmond Community College | English is my first language...dropped has come to mean "released" or "made available"...dropped on the market.
But it's usually used in reference to the music. As in, "Adele just dropped a new album." I just used it here for fun. Roy Lambert wrote: Alan Wow - has it really been that long? >English is my first language...dropped has come to mean "released" or "made available"...dropped on the market. Ahhh millennium speak. Should have known I'm an antique and whilst I realise and accept that languages change over time, especially English, this one totally baffles me. >But it's usually used in reference to the music. As in, "Adele just dropped a new album." Yeah, I'm not surprised. With the amount of drugs and booze "stars" ingest they're probably dropping things all over, and breaking lots of them. >I just used it here for fun. Sorry I'm to old to understand the joke Roy |
