Thread Change DB Path from program?

Hi!

In my old DBISAM apps I use inifile to get the connection params (except usr/pwd).
For example:
 IsServerMode?
 Local Path?
 ServerIP?

In the EDB (as I see) the config file do this thing.

This is sometimes good, but sometimes is not.
For example some admins (corps) are better qualified, and if something changed (or need to
change quickly), they are need to modify the config file.
But I don't wanna install and place the edbmgr in their's machine, because of security
problems (they can change the tables, etc.).

How to I modify the config file from an my own application (I need to change only the
connection params)?

Thanks for your help:

Its not to different from DBISAM when you look at it. The easy one to illustrate is the local path (in fileserver mode naturally). Just look at the cd collector app. In it Tim dynamically sets the path to the data.
