Lee Mc Cauley | I had a customer with this error. I don't think it is a good one. This happened during normal operation.
The table ********** is corrupt (Error reading header from disk) Any help or should I contact Tim directly? Thanks, Lee |

<< I had a customer with this error. I don't think it is a good one. This happened during normal operation. The table ********** is corrupt (Error reading header from disk) >> I've got your email and I'm looking into it this morning (I decided to do the support forums first). For others, this error means that EDB had an issue reading a table header from disk. The cause is normally a) a bad hard drive or network connectivity (if using file-sharing), or b) the file is actually truncated on disk. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Follow-up: Yeah, the dqevents.edbtbl table is empty. Something deleted it and EDB recreated it with zero bytes. When it does this, EDB will log a warning event in the logged events for EDB (SELECT * FROM Configuration.LogEvents). The only thing you can do at this point is restore from a backup. Is the customer running any AV software ? If so, have them check to see if the database directory is getting scanned by the AV software. If so, have them *exclude* the database directory from scanning and check the scanner history to see if the dqevents table files were quarantined or manipulated in any way during scanning.
