Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Steve,
<< I've just returned from two weeks overseas with no Internet access. Any news on EWB yet? >> I'm sprinting to the December 1st finish, although one of our server drives failing again yesterday isn't helping things. Things should be ready by the 1st, although I might cut out a couple of smaller features in order to make the deadline. << BTW, arrived at Canberra airport from Sydney to see Air Force One sitting on the RAAF tarmac. Managed to get a photo before security chased me away. >> Ahh, so you were the guy running across the tarmac with a group of black-suited men chasing you... -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Steve Gill | Hi Tim,
<< I'm sprinting to the December 1st finish, although one of our server drives failing again yesterday isn't helping things. >> What is it they say about Murphy's Law? << Things should be ready by the 1st, although I might cut out a couple of smaller features in order to make the deadline. >> Great, looking forward to getting my hands on it. << Ahh, so you were the guy running across the tarmac with a group of black-suited men chasing you... >> Ha ha. Lugging a heavy laptop backpack and a large camera bag, I don't think I would have gotten far if I had to run. There was a story all over the news later that day about Air Force One having it's departure delayed because a man was spotted on the roof of a nearby building. A police helicopter flew over to the building and told him to get down. Turned out to be my nephew doing some air conditioning work, oblivious to what was going on. Sounds like a conspiracy plot, me taking photos and my nephew on the roof of a nearby building. Steve |

Steve Gill | So is tomorrow the day we've been waiting for? Will the wait finally be over? Should I cancel all calls and appointments?

<< So is tomorrow the day we've been waiting for? Will the wait finally be over? Should I cancel all calls and appointments? >> I'm afraid to say that it still won't be ready, but we will be taking pre-orders by tomorrow or Friday, and the web site will be updated with new EWB content in preparation for the release. I've got about 10 items left to deal with, mostly small things, but they need to be addressed before the release. I'm doing the first test builds in our build system tonight, so provided that everything goes okay, we'll have a pre-release version that can be downloaded for anyone that pre-orders. I've attached some screen shots in my post in the (new) EWB announcements newsgroup. You can access the newsgroups from a newsreader, and the web support forums will be accessible by tomorrow morning. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Steve,
<< So it *is* going to be a Christmas present now? >> It's looking more and more that way. Actually, no, it should be available before then, and we're definitely doing pre-orders by Monday, so you'll be able to get a hold of a pre-release version by placing a pre-order (if you want, completely up to you). The main difference between the pre-release and the final will be the items that I mentioned. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Unfortunately, in my day job newsgroups are blocked but the web one works fine. Steve |
