Backup using FTP |

Richard ENT Technologies | It would be nice if I could backup a database to an offsite server using FTP.
I do this now using DBISAM and Indy but it would be handy if the engine could do the backup itself. |

You possibly can by using stores. I have no idea how since I don't use them myself but I know it should be possible. Roy Lambert |

<< It would be nice if I could backup a database to an offsite server using FTP. >> You can do so by using stores: http://www.elevatesoft.com/manual?action=viewtopic&id=edb2sql&topic=Stores 1) Create a local store called 'Backups' 2) Create a remote store that points to the offsite server and call it 'OffSite' 3) Use the BACKUP DATABASE statement to backup the database into the local 'Backups' store 4) Use the COPY FILE statement to copy the backup file from the local 'Backups' store to the remote 'OffSite' store That's it. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
