First CD Collector Database Application Demo |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | I finally have the first CD Collector demonstration application up on the
web site here: http://www.elevatesoft.com/cdcollector/cdcollector.html It's read-only and very basic, but shows you how you would go about putting together a data-aware application very quickly. The back-end web server is the Elevate Software Web Server, and it has been updated to provide basic JSON data services for the demo applications on the web site. Attached you will find the source code to the demo application, along with a new copy of the GlossyBlue theme that is used with the application. You will need to install the theme before opening the application in the IDE, or else the application theme will revert to the default and won't look very good. Please let me know if you see any issues when running the application on your end. Enjoy ! -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com Attachments: cdcollector.zip |

>Works great in IE9 Guess what Tim's using to develop in More importantly how far back does he want to support? There are many British government departments still using IE6 because they had apps developed for it and can't upgrade. I have IE7 on my main PC because 1) I use Maxthin as my browser and 2) I have Windows updates turned off. Roy Lambert |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Roy,
<< In the IDE (running IE7 doesn't show at all) >> IE 7 is *not* supported. From the Downloads page: Elevate Web Builder requires Internet Explorer 8 or higher for proper operation of the embedded web browser in the IDE. << Loading the html file manually >> Do you mean clicking on the link that I posted, or trying to run the compiled version of the application on your machine ? Since you don't have a web server that is serving up data, then you'll get nothing but errors on the TServerRequest calls if you try to do the latter. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I wonder how long my eyes have automatically skipped over that? I'm to familiar with your download pages so I just went strait for the download link without reading anything. Sorry, and I'm off to download IE whatever runs on Vista. ><< Loading the html file manually >> > >Do you mean clicking on the link that I posted, or trying to run the >compiled version of the application on your machine ? Is the position of Village Idiot available for EWB? Looks good when you use the link Roy Lambert |

Manfredt | Tim,
The application shows perfectly on my laptop running Windows 7 using IE, Firefox, and Chrome. But on my iPhone 4 it shows nicely except the top bar above the forms is chopped off, can you please look into this. Manfredt Kavetu |

<< I wonder how long my eyes have automatically skipped over that? I'm to familiar with your download pages so I just went strait for the download link without reading anything. Sorry, and I'm off to download IE whatever runs on Vista. >> No problem, and sorry if my last post sounded snarky. I've been typing messages out in a very *terse* manner this week. << Is the position of Village Idiot available for EWB? >> Don't worry, you'll get it. It takes some time to get used to the browser environment and its restrictions/security policies. Plus, some of it is just downright bizarre. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

But on my iPhone 4 it shows nicely except the top bar above the forms is chopped off, can you please look into this. >> It's not really designed/sized for smaller screens, especially in terms of the desktop sizing vs. the form sizing, so Android/iPhone devices will cut off parts of the form. In general, if the form is larger than the desktop due to the screen size, then there will be issues like this. On a Kindle Fire, for example, the main form is slightly too large to fit on the screen. Hopefully I can put together a "mobile" theme shortly that will be sized more appropriately for mobile devices, and do a demo application with it. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
