Thread Server Objects Database (ewbsrvr.db)

The Server Objects Database (ewbsrvr.db) stores all server objects such as privileges, roles, users, databases and server applications. This database is stored at:

* C:\ProgramData\Elevate Software\Elevate Web Builder 3 Web Server".

As result, it has lot of clutter. I have couple dozen one or two table test databases. I often add a number of views to databases to aid testing. To ensure that the client’s machine only contains relevant data, I have created new server that matches the requirements of client’s system without all the irrelevant objects.

I think it would be more beneficial if the Roles, Privileges and Databases are defined separately and not as objects within the servers. These objects can then be assigned to servers as required which is relevant to what Bruno posted in his query.

What do others think?

It is not obvious that in order to Migrate a server, that the developer needs to:

* Select the Server tab in the Server Manager panel
* Right click the Internal server
* Select Migrate server option
* Select the Target Server and check the required migration options

Would it be possible to add Help icon on the Project toolbar? This could provide a guide on the steps required to migrate server files?

If the content files are migrated, then the timestamp for the migrated files is the current Eastern  (US) time.

The global TserverSession instance called Session has its name as blank. Should the name be “Session”?

Richard,

Please keep your posts to one subject at a time, and be as brief as possible.  You're including 3 or 4 different things in each post, and they are *way* too long.

<< I think it would be more beneficial if the Roles, Privileges and Databases are defined separately and not as objects within the servers. These objects can then be assigned to servers as required which is relevant to what Bruno posted in his query. >>

I'm sorry, but that won't be happening.

This is covered in the manual:

<< Would it be possible to add Help icon on the Project toolbar? This could provide a guide on the steps required to migrate server files? >>

There already is an "Access Help" icon on the main toolbar under the "Help" tab.

<< If the content files are migrated, then the timestamp for the migrated files is the current Eastern  (US) time. >>

I have no idea what you're referring to here.  Where is your EWB Web Server located ?

<< The global TserverSession instance called Session has its name as blank. Should the name be “Session”? >>

No.  It's just an instance of a component, and is never referenced via its component name.
