Create new project.
Create 2 x TBasicPanel putting one inside the other.
Now delete the inner one - AV (see attached screenshot).

Yeah, I noticed the same today. Seems to happen if the TBasicPanel is
placed in a TPanel or TGroupPanel as well. Doesn't happen all the time
for me. For example, if I drop the TBasicPanel into the container and
then immediately hit the delete key the AV does not occur. I need to
drop in the TBasicPanel and then click it with the mouse before hitting
delete in order to see the AV.

It's an issue with the designer hints.  If you hover over the control long enough that the hint shows up, and then delete the control, it should AV every time.
