Hi Tim,

I've started work on a web version of a Windows desktop app and I'm hitting some limitations with the current set of EWB UI controls, ie. no menus, no image support for buttons (so I can make toolbars using buttons and panels), to name a couple.

I know you're working flat out on this and I hate to ask but, I'm going to ask anyway Smile are these things that *could* possibly be included within the next, say, 6 to 12 months?

Thanks.

You can do a nice menu using the existing forms or panels, but you have to do it
manually.

Icons on buttons would indeed be nice.

Yes I've played around with panels, labels, etc. and have some basic menus working but it's a lot of work and slows down development a lot.

Steve,

I posted some code in the demos ng some time ago. Look for "Menu built
with panels".

Maybe that'll help you.

Hello There,

I have read in the road map page that a menu control is planned for the release 1.03

Thanks, but as I mentioned I have already done this. What is really needed is "native" support for menus, ie. built-in to EWB.  A menu control is going to be superior to fudging it with panels, etc., and it's going to improve productivity by reducing development time. Smile

Yes, that's true but I was avoiding asking when 1.03 would be available as that includes a lot of other stuff as well.

That's great news. I just start to read about the EWB features to find out which framework to "play" with next, in combination with RemObjects servers. In this context, a TreeView control (which might be not trivial!) is a must-have. Is there an estimation when this could be available?

Thanks,
Bernhard

Just "as fast as I can get them done".  I've got to get over the PHP/Linux
back-end hump, and then I'm back on the framework improvements.
