Rick | I need to keep some TGrid columns static during horizontal scrolling.
Is there currently a way of implementing fixed columns in a TGrid or is this something that may be added in a later release of the component? I haven't seen anything roadmap-wise about this but may have missed something. -- Rick |

Thanks Tim. From my perspective fixed columns is a must-have feature. Do you think there would be any value in providing a feature request submission and management facility that is visible to users? I would like to see a filterable list of requirements and requested enhancements submitted both by you and by users/customers. Perhaps it could include the ability for users to vote or "like" submitted enhancements. This would have the added benefit of aiding you in deciding feature priorities. Obviously you wouldn't have to commit to any of the feature requests but at least you would know what users are interested in. I don't want to add to your current work load because, like others, I am keen for new releases of EWB to become available. However, it is unclear if a new feature has already been suggested and would reduce likely duplication on the forums. I have several additions I'd like to see implemented from the trivial (e.g. mouse resizeable windows) to the more complex (e.g. control anchoring) but have no way of telling if any or all of these have already been suggested. I'm sure every user has something they'd like to see. I know there is a road map but this is subject to change and appears to remain fairly static. I am also aware of the Requested Improvements section under the Incidents page but this seems related to problem management and is also restricted to individual release levels. A single, filterable list seems more useful. -- Rick |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. ![]() | Rick,
<< Do you think there would be any value in providing a feature request submission and management facility that is visible to users? >> Sure. It's in the incident reports already - it would just need a little tweaking to make the "improvement" portion of the incident reports more distinct and visible. But, you can already filter by any improvement requests made by users/customers: http://www.elevatesoft.com/incident?action=search&category=ewb The problem, though, is that most users send us emails for enhancements, so the enhancements don't get logged until they are implemented. If everyone were to just start using the submittal form, then I can make them visible right away. But, again, I probably need to make this all a bit more clear since "incident report" does not automatically make one think of "improvement". ![]() Thanks, Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
