Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Okay, I've been really trying to hold off on doing this, but things are
really starting to come to a head and I need to get this out there. I tried to make the following clear when I did the pre-release blog post, but it has been basically ignored and it is really starting to affect the release of the product in a negative way. The fact of the matter is: 1) EWB is several *months* late and the release date lapses are becoming a big embarrassment to the company and myself, personally. 2) I'm spending all of my time on trivial display issues or specific issues that are particular to a person's application/code, and that have nothing to do with getting the product completed. I'm effectively doing support and enhancements on a product that isn't released and doesn't have complete documentation yet. This is not good. 3) While I appreciate that people are trying to use the pre-release product for actual applications, this was never the intention of the pre-release and we are turning away a *lot* of potential sales every day because we don't have a released product with a proper trial version. So, effective today, I'm putting a moratorium on handling any other issues/enhancements, etc. for EWB until the product is released. I will not be answer any more questions here, I will not be fixing any more bugs, and I won't be talking about/explaining the architecture. For all intents and purposes, this forum is dead for now until the product is released. If need be, I'll just close the EWB forums until after the release. I hate to sound like a jerk, but it's crunch time and I have to make some hard decisions about how to proceed. I hope that everyone can understand the position that we are in, and respect my wishes regarding the above. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

MalcolmC | I don't have a problem with that at all. I would rather wait to have a
'completed' product with documentation and TUTORIALS -- Malcolm Townsville, Australia "Tim Young [Elevate Software]" <timyoung@elevatesoft.com> wrote in message news:E5BE0FC4-D7A5-49A0-8A8C-0B1CB45CFA4F@news.elevatesoft.com... > Okay, I've been really trying to hold off on doing this, but things are > really starting to come to a head and I need to get this out there. have to get the product out the door. |
