Windows 8 native Javascript applications |

Richard ENT Technologies | I've just been reading Windows 8, and it appears you can create native applications using HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. That is, you can run a web application directly in Windows 8 without a web browser. Of course, Microsoft have their own Javascript library, which means a Windows 8 web application probably won't run anywhere else other than on a computer with Windows 8, which may be what they are hoping for.
My question is, what would it take for EWB to produce native Windows 8 applications? I expect it would have to be modified heavily, because all the user interface controls are provided by Microsoft, so as to keep the Metro style in tact. It will be interesting to see if native Windows web applications will actually take off. |

If Windows 8 standardizes such apps across mobile and desktop devices, then this could be a big boon to standardizing HTML/JS-only applications. Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
