Anyone having client disconnections with latest builds? |

Luis Conception Gonzalez | Hi!
I have been experiencing disconnection problems in our client application in our local network. The client application disconnects from the server. Sometimes I can 'reconnect' but sometimes I have to close the app and reopen it again. The client app executes the OnServerReconnect event when this happens, and I can try to reconnect or close the app. I know this (probably) can be due to external causes, network problems, etc., but it seems like the remote timeout is reached more tan ever before and I would like to ensure there is no problema with latest builds or any configuration I should check. RemoteTimeOut is set to 300 RemotePing is True KeepConnections is True Is there any test I can do that allows me to ensure that the problem is inside or outside the application? Anyone with similar network problems can suggest any network-checker app or something? Thanks Luis C. |

Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Luis,
What about the Connection Timeout on the server, what is it set to? Also, I once had an issue like this on a small network where the server was also a workstation and at some point they set it to turn the disk off after a few hours of inactivity. -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |

Luis Conception Gonzalez | Hi, Fernando.
Where can I see/set it? I can't see any related property in the TDBISAMEngine component. Just ReadLock/WriteLock Timeout. Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Luis,
You can set it with the Server Administration Utility. -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |

If it does, then your client and server connection timeouts are set incorrect or there's a bug in DBISAM (I doubt that it's the latter, but..). Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Luis Conception Gonzalez | Hi!
I have been testing this and noticed that the server is "dissapearing" from the network constantly. I have changed the wifi usb adapter and it seems it is working correctly for now. Fernando Dias Team Elevate | Luis,
I didn't know it is a wi-fi network. I wouldn't trust in wi-fi for any critical connections, unless there is no other option. There are so many things that might go wrong. -- Fernando Dias [Team Elevate] |
