Hello,

one customer has been running a 330cs application on a Windows SBS 2003 for
over 4 years. He now wants to
change to a new server running Windows SBS 2008 (64bit). Anyone aware of
any problems arising from such a change?

If you're using a non-ANSI Standard locale with your tables, then you may
want to test it first.  There were some issues with German locales and
Vista, and I would assume that they apply to 2008 also:

Dear Nils.

We are also using 330cs applications and have discovered several serious problems when using Vista and/or 2008-server. In general it works, but some
things simply result in 0-rows dataset. E.g. tables with primary-index consisting of Integer-field and Char-field. Also some SELECT including JOINS result in 0-
row dataset. On a Vista client, you can work around this problem by checking the XPSP2" checkbox under the executable properties.

BUT when running the DBISAM 3.x client-server service on a 2008-server that is not possible. Meaning when using the DBSRVR service on a 2008-server,
some SELECT statements simply dont work. You would not get syntax error, simply an empty dataset as result, even there should be records.

If you - or anybody else - have a solution how to get a 3.x service to run without problems on a 2008-server, I would be very happy !

You have to check ALL your queries, as some of them may not work. It seems to work ok, but it does not. I have several examples of SELECTS queries that
does not work on a 2008-server (and Vista)

Jan,

This is only an issue if you use certain European locales with your tables.
The ANSI Standard locale should work fine.

You can get it to work by modifying the source code.  If you want more
information, just email me privately.
