Yes, but when Vista starts getting deployed in larger businesses, doing that
won't be an option!

Some other Vista *observations<cough!!!>*:

1) the Run button isn't visible (by default) from the Start Menu.

2) updates to Miscosoft Office can't be downloaded to a Vista computer (yet, according to MS!).

Not exactly on topic, but even today, our customers are more asking to Win98
or NT support than for XP or Vista. We have to tell them that Win2k is the
safest platform (almost 7 years old, wow) and NT and 98 can't be guaranteed.
But Vista? Nobody cared yet. Strange, but it suits me. More time for
functionality than cheching if shadows are drawn as expected. And running
the Glass thing in a VM is not really possible Smile

FWIW, we (who sell desktop apps to the world) took the decision that we
would only support Win2000 with our new updates to apps. No one has had a
problem - you can buy a new PC for the price of software nowadays. But the
Vista support that is needed at minimum is the sort of stuff that was
outlined in the "how you make your app Vista compatible" article that
someone wrote. No need to buy D2007, though I will for another reason, but
making your app a good citizen on Vista is probably good for those who
will use it.

Nearly all of our clients are using XP and, unfortunately, we've already
had enquiries about whether our software will work with Vista.  As most
new PCs are being sold with Vista installed (at least here anyway), I'm
sure we're going to get asked this more and more.  I think it's time I
bought a new PC. Frown
