Make sure you're here on the third Monday of the month and we can invite you to be speaker at our ADUG meeting. And I'll happily stand you lunch. -- Tony Bryer, Greentram Software Pty Ltd, Melbourne, Australia 'Software to build on' http://www.greentram.com |

JonD | Just got back from Toronto presentation... very impressive
about the cross-platform capabilities. No sure about this but it appears you need to rewrite (initially) using FireMonkey in order to gain the cross-platform capabilities. This may be a stumbling block for old applications (but new ones would be pretty straight forward). Anyway, that's what I gleaned from the presentation. rkloeg | Is there any update on this yet?
Just got XE2 last thursday and can't wait to start using it. How is this going to work? Is there going to be VCL and Firemonkey components? |

JonD | As I understand it... they're included in the release (except
the very lowest level, perhaps). VCL should be there plus FireMonkey. C++ is a little different compared to Delphi however. Its not only a matter of what Embarcadero delivers but the 3rd party components. Up to now, unless you've bought the source, you've had to make sure you have the right dcu files for your version. Are there now going to be four dcus per version of Delphi ie 32bit/64bit/VCL/FireMonkey? Roy Lambert |

Matthew Jones | Have a look at the responses to the original post in this thread, which was exactly
that question. /Matthew Jones/ |

Is Elevatesoft working on components for Delphi XE(VCL and Firemonkey)? >> We're working on DBISAM for XE2. The only new feature, as far as DBISAM is concerned, will be the 64-bit support. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
