Raul/Tim I find it difficult talking to some
Americans and other English speakin guys.
Although we speak the same basic language
I get in awful trouble with my Scouse accent.
Grammar punctuation are lost on me sometimes.
I often get "Say What" from my USA-CA
friends and some other English guys.
I was sorta thinking tho maybe Santy has
dropped an "i" between the "n" and "t" in his
name. It happens head scratchin how do u
do this but DBIsam is the easiest CS ever to
manage. So I guess poor old Santy is losing
his sanity compared to how difficult it was
to installing MySql he cant see the wood for
the trees.

Okay, try this:

1) Using the Database System Utility, select File/Options, and click on the
Remote tab.
2) In the IP Address field, type in 64.65.248.118 and then click on OK.
3) Now select File/Open Table.
4) When the login dialog is presented, use:

User ID: Test
Password: DBISAMDemo

5) When the Open Table dialog appears, select the Test database from the
databases combo box, and then select the Customer table and click on OK.

Voila !  You've now accessed a DBISAM database/table over the Internet.

Rita - speaking of my posts it's probably just my bad english (not native
tongue and even though I was technically taught British version as a kid
I've lived in NA long enough to use this version - still poorly

Bigger problem often is defining what we mean by the term "web" .  It's too
often used for anything to do with Internet.

I prefer - correctly or not - the stricter definition where Internet is the
network (TCP/IP and routing) and "web" are the web resources and links that
you access with URL usually using HTTP protocol (and often browser).
For this newsgroup we thus have both options available : the "internet"
version of accessing it using newsgroup reader and NNTP protocol or "web"
version of accessing it with browser (and HTTP).

I'm afraid I haven't explained it correctly...

I don't have a web server running on my machine. I just have some websites
(domain + hosting), like '1&1', and other ones...
Those companies offer different services, like MySQL databases, email
accounts, etc...

So, as other hosting companies offer MySQL databases, with control panel,
etc... Is there any hosting solution which offer DBISAM database hosting?

I currently have an application that connects to a remote database server
using DBISAM C/S, but that's not what I am trying to test.

You don't need them to specifically host a DBISAM Database Server if you
just want to use a web application (CGI, ISAPI, ASP/ASP.NET, PHP, etc.) with
their web server.  In such a case, you simply need your web application to
be compiled to use the local DBISAM engine (VCL or ODBC driver for
ASP/ASP.NET/PHP), and it can then directly access the database tables on the
web server machine.
