<< I want to copy version 3 .dat (and related .idx) files. I can do it with dbsys.exe with GUI. How can I do it with command line in a .bat file? >> With DBISAM 3.x, you'll need to do it using a Delphi/C++Builder application that calls the TDBISAMTable.CopyTable method. There aren't any SQL statements for copying tables in DBISAM 3.x. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

<< the dat and idx files are being used by ~40 users on the network and continously 7x24. As far as I know, copying "open" files could may result to "unstable" files. >> You are correct. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Raul" | I stand corrected.
The reason i thought it did was that we have it in an older v3 app - we must have used SaveToStream then to accomplish the function like backup. Raul > << While i don't have a v3 available i'm pretty sure it had > backup/restore. > >> > > No, unfortunately it did not. |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Raul,
<< I stand corrected. >> If it makes you feel any better, I had to double-check, and still couldn't believe it myself. I could have sworn we had backup/restore in 3.x. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
