Elevate Internet Server |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Uddo,
<< if I chance Decimal Seperator to "." the Elevate Internet Server works ok. But I have to stay with German localisation and Decimal Seperator to "," .. Perhaps Tim can modify sources so the server works for European Customers too. >> I don't think you understand what the Internet Server is. It isn't a product that we sell, it's the server that we use internally for our web site, email, etc. and we simply posted it in the binaries newsgroup as a courtesy to some who wanted to see it and use it. We don't intend to make it a generic product, so you'll have to do any modifications for your environment yourself. << For WebServer where I have to place the html stuff ? I tried in data directory and root dir but get allways error 404 resource not found. Must 1th page called index.html or default.html ? >> This is controlled via the webhosts table. The server uses the root host domain of the request via the Host header to determine which web site entry to use in the webhosts table. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Uddo Marten" | Hi Tim,
the only comment to your answer: Remember your first response: >To your issue: I would just pop it into the Delphi debugger and see what is >going on. If you want to give me more information about where the AV is >occurring, I'll be happy to tell you how you can resolve it. >Tim The only helpfull response was from Farshad. Thank you Tim very much ..... Uddo |

It was written to run his website some of us asked and we got the whole thing. I ran a website news group and pop3 mailer from it for around 3 years. The problem you are having is the decimal point is that so hard to fix ? Tim is a very helpful guy and I see his last post to you was at 17:37 GMT Friday its now 4:00 am Monday you dont have to be a rocket science grad to figure its the weekend, and Tim is not likely to give up his time for something he gave away free. This is the sweet Rita signing off after doing a treelist with 30 roots and who knows how many items wishing you good luck. Rita |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Uddo,
<< the only comment to your answer: Remember your first response: >> Yes, and you quoted the relevant portion: "I'll be happy to tell you how you can resolve it." I didn't tell you that I would fix it for you, and since someone else told you how to resolve it, then there's not much else for me to do. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Farshad" | If you have the source code add the following lines to the OnCreate() event
of the Application Main Form Application.UpdateFormatSettings:=False; DecimalSeparator:='.'; This will guarantee that regardless of your regional settings your App will use '.' as decimal seperator for internal decimal conversion operations. |

"Iztok Lajovic" | Uddo,
you showed very strange, shameless and unpolite attitude to the author of a program for which you did not pay a cent. This community on contrary behaves respectfully to each other regardless how much the answers help to asking person. I think that polite manner and recpectful talking has to be preserved. We all get and win a lot. Before you make comments like that I suggest you review the whole of the newsgroups. I personally have an ongoing debate with Tim over what he has and hasn't built into ElevateDB BUT he is one of the most helpful component authors I have encountered. As he said he gave that code free, at present he's still under a lot of pressure with ElevateDB, a product which helps to pay his bills so I don't think you have any real cause for complaint. Also remember part of the function of these newsgroups is to allow us to help each other. If Tim's support were not generally so good you would find far fewer of us here, and probably never have received any answer. Think on that one. Roy Lambert |

"J. B. Ferguson" | Those words are cold and callous, but they are meaningless (you seem to
like that word) to those of us who know the kind of support Tim *does* give. You won't stir up discontent in here with those kind of words, with the exception of discontentment and rage against yourself! I personally think you owe Tim an apology! -- Regards, Jan Ferguson Uddo Marten wrote: <<.... he Tim - you wrote hundreds of meaningless words, but real help <<is so simple ..... << Uddo |
