If a grass-roots effort is needed, I have several hundred AOL users. All I need is wording and an address, and I can mention it in my newsletter. -- Chris |

"Terry Swiers" | Tim,
> Thanks, I will look into this further. No troubles. Had another one this morning. I believe he said he was using the Computer Associates Anti-Spyware product, but I'm not 100% sure on this one. The big problem with this one is that it deleted a populated blob file. Got lucky that he had run the optimization just yesterday and still had the backup file available. Not expecting you to take any action, but I thought you might like to know about it. -- --------------------------------------- Terry Swiers Millennium Software, LLC http://www.1000years.com http://www.atrex.com Atrex Inventory Control/POS - Big business features without spending big business bucks! I'll add it to the growing list of evidence. Thanks, -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

It's also given away free to TimeWarner cable (RoadRunner) customers. It was causing trouble for Armadillo-wrapped programs about a year ago, and the Armadillo folks (Digital River) finally got someone to talk to at CA. It was another month or two (after the CA fix) before the fix trickled down to AOL users. Some possible contacts for CA: support@siliconrealms.com ask for Denis, and reference the "error Unpacking Program Lp5" thread (in the private forum area - sorry). Yours is a different problem, of course, but whatever contacts helped them with this error, may be able to help you. The PassMark folks seem to have been in contact with CA, also over the Armadillo issue: http://www.passmark.com/forum/showthread.php?t=549 |

Dave | ZoneAlarm is also part of the problem.
Customer Quote: "I’ve messed up my database. I ran the DB Utility to repair the db. The utility simply says the MyTable.BLB file does not exist and then finishes. How I got in this mess… ZoneAlarm Internet Security detected a Trojan in the file. Silly me…I told it to delete the file on system reboot. Silly it…. It did." |

<< Just a reminder, Tim, I speak with the top execs of most of these companies weekly... Let me know if I can help. >> I sure will. I've put this issue on hold until the EDB .NET data provider is done. This type of thing takes huge amounts of time to track down and coordinate, and I really don't have much time at the moment. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
