Sam Jones | As discussed here:
http://www.elevatesoft.com/scripts/newsgrp.dll?action=openmsg&group=5&msg=59999&page=1 We continue to see recurring, supremely frustrating problems on some Vista machines in the field. Something in Vista-world is locking one or more of our DBISAM files, causing our entire application to fail. Our database is held under %APPDATA% in a directory to effect: %APPDATA%\Cool Software Inc\Our Product\Database.v5\ We have tried everything we can think of: 1) completely uninstalled anti virus software 2) uninstalled anti spyware software We are at our wits' end and need help. Suggestions? Thank you!! |

<< Suggestions? >> I really can't do much to help you at this point. Did you try download FileMon from here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/FileAndDisk/Filemon.mspx and see what is holding the lock(s) ? -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Sam Jones | We are going to try to use this approach... if we can get access to the system when the
problem is present. |

adam | We have found that some Vista machines come with a new form of Windows Firewall installed
which needs to be changed for the machines to access our database effectively. I guess this might be causing your problem?? Adam |
