<< Is ElevateDB able to open DBISam V3.3 databases or am I able to programmatically upgrade a DBISam V3.3 Db such that it can be opened in ElevateDB ? >> Yes, you can programmatically migrate a DBISAM V3 database to EDB: http://www.elevatesoft.com/edb1d7_dbisam_migration.htm -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Gregory Sebastian" | Thanks Tim,
I'm already trying out ElevateDB now, looks very good so far. However the thing that strikes me right away is the configuration file. If I want to deploy my app for local sessions in a multi-user environment does this mean that I have to provide a means for the end user to manually configure the path to this file and does the end user would have to do it on each workstation ? Is it similar to the BDE/ Paradox lock files ? Is there a way to handle this in ElevateDB such that the end user would not need to do any configuration whatsoever for Local connections ? Regards Gregory Sebastian |

See the CDCollector sample application for information on how to do this. << Is it similar to the BDE/ Paradox lock files ? >> No. << Is there a way to handle this in ElevateDB such that the end user would not need to do any configuration whatsoever for Local connections ? >> See above. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
