D2007 Help File |

adam | I have just installed DBISAM 425 in D2007 Enterprise. It works just fine ... though I
haven't built anything large yet! ... However, DBISAM's Help has over-written D2007's help file. If I hit F1 in D2007, I get DBISAM help & it doesn't seem possible to reset this. As I haven't upgraded Delphi since D6 I am using the Help file rather a lot ... so this is a right pain. I don't usually use these new-fangled help-file formats (... so I'm not sure how to reset it. In CodeGear's folders on my disk there don't seem to be any "executable" help files, all the files in the Help folder (called things like devwin32.hxs) seem to require something else to run & I'm not sure what Adam |

Keep using D6's help file - its better unless D2007 has really improved over D2006. There doesn't seem to be any way of viewing the new "improved" help outside the app. If you find a way I want one as well! Roy Lambert |

"Uffe Kousgaard" | This shows as being posted as 19:44 here in outlook express, but it really
was 17:36. The header also shows 17:36 (+2:00). +2 = CET + Daylight Saving What's wrong? |

Tim Young [Elevate Software] Elevate Software, Inc. timyoung@elevatesoft.com | Adam,

I don't understand why this shit doesn't work the same every time - we changed absolutely nothing from prior versions with respect to our D2007 help installation other than to simply change all BDS4 references to BDS5. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

"Ron L." | It seems that h2reg -u
followed by h2reg -r -m from the Delphi Help/Doc directory will rebuild Delphi's help - but it will lose all 3rd party help files you have - and you will have to rebuild and add them manually (which I have not been able to do so far). It also seems to have lost the index. This is a real pain, for sure. |

"JohnE" | Tim,
For what it's worth, I was installed latest DevEx QuantumGrid, and it really hosed the D2007 help file. So, I'm sure it's not just a DBISAM problem. Hope that makes you feel a little better John |
