I've had the above error twice in the last two days. I've just spent an hour trying to replicate it but can't. I think its something to with full text indexing, multi threading and OnTextIndex event but I can't prove it. Any suggestions? Garik M | I got the same error in my program today as well. My orders table was locked and I couldn't add a new order to it using the program.
However, I was able to manually add a blank order using database system manager without any error messages. Garik |

I think so, but I have no way of proving or disproving that. Also I tried to "rewind" to before I'd downloaded the days posts to replicate it, and to save me having to spend 3+ hours repairing after deleting things is DBSys (because of the custom fti stuff) I also deleted everything prior to 2005 and couldn't get it to occur again. I'm not sure it would even if I went through the hassle of just deleting a couple of days worth and redownloaded. Garik M | Tim,
Does this mean I have to ask everyone using the program to shut it down in order to fix this issue? Is there a way to detect what user is causing this issue? I have the program running in a network with about 10-12 users (peer-to-peer mode). Btw, I use Developer Exporess components - are there any known problems with these controls that could cause such a problem with dbisam? Thanks, Garik "Tim Young [Elevate Software]" <timyoung@elevatesoft.com> wrote: Sometimes this error can prevent you from moving away from the current record because DBISAM keeps trying to unlock a record that isn't locked to begin with (which is the actual problem and is sometimes caused by 3rd party controls). << Does this mean I have to ask everyone using the program to shut it down in order to fix this issue? >> Well, the fix is to find the source of the problem, which as I stated, has normally been funky 3rd party controls. << Is there a way to detect what user is causing this issue? Btw, I use Developer Exporess components - are there any known problems with these controls that could cause such a problem with dbisam? >> Yes, we have had issues with the DevEx components doing things with the record buffers that cause DBISAM to try to unlock the incorrect record. Can you reproduce the issue ? If so, then if you can send me a sample of what is going on along with the DevEx version number, etc., I can try and figure out a workaround here. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

<< Yup I'll just hope suddenly everyone suffers from it >> That's usually the best scenario since we can then triangulate the problem from different viewpoints and come up with the common elements. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
