EDBManager, fast table open |

Roy Lambert NLH Associates Team Elevate | Is there a way to have a menu option for the above, even if there's only one?
The reason is as I'm developing I often want to open a table, generally only one or two at any given phase, related to what I'm doing and it would be brilliant if I didn't have to open a session, open a database, open a table but could just click on something that did the lot for me and the table magically opened. << Is there a way to have a menu option for the above, even if there's only one? >> I've been thinking about a "save the state" option that will save the open sessions, databases, tables, etc. and restore them upon re-entering the EDB Manager. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

I generally find the "save everything I was doing" type approach less useful. All too often I don't want to do what I was doing, or exited cos I cocked up or had too much open and closing and reopening is the fastest/easiest way of sorting it out. But lets hear what others have to way as well. Roy Lambert |

Often when writing SQL in DBISAM I just open one of the relevant tables to check on fieldnames, indexes, etc. Also, I hardly ever want to pick up exactly where I left off - if I stop for lunch, I leave everything open, and if I stop for the night then I wouldn't remember WHY I had all those things open anyway, next morning ;-/ -- Chris (XP-Pro + Delphi 7 Architect + DBISAM 4.25 build 4 + EDB 1.04 build 3) |

Remember, to open the table, EDB has to open the session and the database anyways. And, we're talking milliseconds here. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |
