Whew !  I finally got the EDB .NET Data Provider running on Compact
Framework, as you can see from this image:

It isn't much to look at, but it is pretty cool.  The performance isn't too
bad, either, considering how weak the microprocessors are compared to a
desktop processor.

The CF support should be ready for sale early next week.

Isaac,

<< - Is there database manager version to run on the pocket pc ? >>

No, I'm afraid it's pretty difficult to fit in the kind of functionality
that the EDB Manager has on to a Pocket PC device.

BTW, I noticed that you asked about a database manager in the Third Party
newsgroup.  Did you look at the free ElevateDB Manager that comes with
ElevateDB yet ?

You have to use Visual Studio right now due to the issue with the Borland
System unit being linked into our .NET data provider (this causes a conflict
when you try to use the .NET data provider with a Borland .NET app).
However, we are planning on doing a FreePascal compiler port, including
their WinCE compiler, so you'll be able to use FPC to compile native
WinCE/Pocket PC apps.

Awesome!  This opens up possibilities for getting EDB everywhere!  Now I can
expand my applications in new ways.

Good Work, Tim!  Smile

Yes I saw this tool but it need many more features I would need in every
day work - I used to IBexpert and InterBase so I hope edb manager have
all the IB Expert most important features (for me):
- Stored Procedure Debugger
- Query Builder
- (I dont know if this is exist) import / export to csv
- Merge external data from old elevatedb into current new one

by the way sql server lite has a small management utility on the pocket
pc this is useful so I hope you make one for pocket pc too.

Isaac,

<< - Stored Procedure Debugger >>

This is coming shortly.

<< - Query Builder  >>

This on the list, but not a high-priority item.

<< - (I dont know if this is exist) import / export to csv >>

Yes, you can do that now in the ElevateDB Manager.

<< - Merge external data from old elevatedb into current new one >>

I'm not sure what you mean here - could you elaborate ?

<< by the way sql server lite has a small management utility on the pocket

I'll check it out and see if it's something we can do.
