<< Thanks for the update. Hope to hear from you again soon. >> Well, it's now running under FP Windows, so another day or two should have it done for Windows CE. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Leslie | Tim,
Sounds great! Did you manage to get the component/property editors working too? Leslie |

Here's a screen shot of ElevateDB running in a test app in the Lazarus IDE: http://www.elevatesoft.com/edblazaruswin.png -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

Terrific. I can see from the screenshot, that you are still using v0.924. I have seen with other products I tested, that they needed to be adjusted for the upcoming FPC/Lazarus release. With Lazarus/FPC it is essential to use the latest branch, because no prior one is supported any more after the release, so the fixes are not available for those who do not upgrade. Lazarus, FPC and the ARM-WinCE port has changed quite a lot since v0.924/v2.2. I would recommend switching to the current version at some point. It would probably save you some time. Thanks for the update. I am quite excited about this. Leslie |

Leslie | Tim,
"What is the latest version ? I just downloaded/installed this version about 2 months ago, but I did some rumblings about a newer version coming along soon." Lazarus is a strange beast. It’s been in beta for years, yet it has been used for commercial products. I am far from a Lazarus expert, but it seems there is no real stable version one can rely on. The daily snapshots can be downloaded from here: http://snapshots.lazarus.shikami.org/lazarus/ You would probably want to make your build for the upcoming FPC 2.2.2 release, so 2.2.2RC2 downloads should be the natural choice. My testing with Unicode EDB databases and the Windows interface showed that the data-aware controls have issues with TWideString fields with Unicode characters, and I'm assuming that the major issue is with the string conversion due to the fact that the data-aware controls use AnsiStrings still. -- Tim Young Elevate Software www.elevatesoft.com |

As I remember UTF8 is used all over at Lazarus. FPC is still using ANSI. Leslie |
