Have only just installed the update.

First thing I noticed in the IDE is when I place the mouse over components no Hint as to what the component is appears.

Am pretty sure it used to provide a Hint before.

Regarding what you are working on now for upcoming releases, I would say:

1) PHP database/datasets framework done that uses the PDO functionality for data access.

--> Yes! This would be a huge feature and open up the product to apps/database engines that run on web hosting accounts for example. And, it would save developers time and seamless development. Yes. Yes. Yes!

2) Revamping the existing database/dataset design so that database models can be imported from the EWB Web Server and will have their own component surface (analogous to a form, but specific to databases) in each project.

--> Yes! For sure. And, also an option at Installation to install the Web Server only rather than having to install the entire EWB at the client site. :/

3) More minor improvements and new controls.  Slider, treeview, menu bar, time edits, drag/drop, etc.

--> Drag and drop would be huge! Shopping carts, and even 'Reordering' items will be more visually appealing and modern.

4) Porting the EWB interpreter used internally in the design-time environment to the EWB Web Server as a general-purpose scripting environment.

--> I can see this having it usefulness for sure.

5) Replacing IE in the IDE browser with Chrome, adding the client-side debugger to the IDE, and adding output views to the run environment for seeing your application running in various configurations and orientations.

-> Yep! A significant move and a time saver for sure.

It's a single exe file to distribute - cannot get any easier.

Why would you install full EWB at customer site ?!

I'm still seeing hints in IDE :
- component toolbar icons have a hint showing class and unit path
- components on form show hint with name:type, position and size

are you not seeing either ?

Because I can Raul, because I can. ROTFL!

Ok... So the ewbsrvr.exe is both the application (accessible via the Start Menu folder) and the Service. Did not realise that until now. Thought they were two separate apps.

Shall copy and install Service, and create Shortcut manually then.

Thanks.

1) Component toolbar icons do not show hint

2) Components on form show 'name: TComponentName' in the Object Inspector

Will this work on both Windows and Linux?

I'm not seeing either of these issues.  Do they happen with all projects, or only certain ones ?
