# 122 Deleting a Field Present in a Secondary Index in Database System Utility Causes Error
I receive an error "#9985 Invalid Field Number" when I delete a field during the restructure of a data file. However, if I first delete the secondary indexes and then everything seems to go OK.

Problem was related to DBSYS referring to the wrong field number when attempting to remove the field from the secondary index key. This error would only occur when attempting to delete a field that existed in a secondary index key.
