# 305 Maximum Validity Check Errors Being Triggered Incorrectly For String Fields
Setting a maximum validity check is causing a validity exception every time a record is posted even though the field value is within the appropriate minimum and maximum values.

Comments Comments
The maximum value validity check code was doing a less than comparison instead of a greater than comparison. This problem only affected string fields that had maximum value validity checks.
