# 463 Import Functionality in Database System Utility Not Handling Embedded Commas Properly

If the first character of a text field on import is a comma, then that field gets a null and the rest of the text string moves to the next field, all following fields in the import file being also shifted one field to the
right.

Comments

This was only a problem if the embedded comma was in the last field in each incoming record.

Resolution

Fixed Problem on 7/29/1999 in version 1.16 build 1
