# 471 Indexing a Float Field on Certain Values Causes a Floating Point Error Exception

I've managed to create a simple project that causes an "Invalid floating point operation". The program consistently fails when posting record 160 to the output file. A key factor seems to be including a floating point field in an index. I noticed that you have a technical bulletin on your web site about problems of this type. I don't have any of the printer drivers mentioned installed on my machine. In fact, on one machine I did a fresh install of Win98 Second Edition and I haven't loaded any printer drivers yet. This program fails on both my laptop running Win98 SE and my desktop machine under Win2K RC2 and Win98 SE (freshly installed in a separate partition). I'm using DBISAM Full Version 1.16 under Delphi 5.

This problem does not preclude an existing problem with some HP PCL6 printer drivers. If you are having floating point errors you should first verify whether replacing a PCL6 printer driver with the standard HP4 PCL5 printer driver fixes the problem.
