# 1076 Optimistic Locking Mode Causes Improper Record Post Error When it Shouldn't

There is still a problem with optimistic record locking. Use DBSys to open a table twice. Be sure to use a server rather than local mode. Edit the same field in both tables, but don't post either edit. Now post the edit in the second table. Next, try to post the edit in the first table, and you get an appropriate error message. Refresh the first table. Now edit the field again in the first table and try to post it. This should work, but you still get an error message that prevents the post.

The problem was with the client engine still thinking the record was the old version when it was actually the latest version. The fix for this problem requires that you update both the client and the server engines to version 3.09.
