# 2087 OldValue Property Not Populated Correctly in TDBISAMEngine AfterUpdate Trigger Event
In an After Insert or After Update trigger, the old value is not known for a Memo field.

Comments Comments and Workarounds
The workaround is to define a BeforeUpdate trigger event handler. That will fix the problem and cause the old value to be correctly saved.
