# 4051 64-Bit DBISAM Database Server Does Not Run Correctly on Windows 8

I am having problems when installing dbsrvr 64 bits on Windows 8 (64 bits).

The dbsrvr.exe (64 bits) does not run neither in app mode nor service in Windows 8. The dbsrvr.exe (32 bits) runs OK in Windows 8. The last version I am using is 4.37 build 1 (64 bits) and it works OK.

It runs OK at 2008 Server and Windows 7 but not in Windows 8.

The UAC is disabled.

The screen flashs and nothing happens.

at command prompt: dbsrvr (without the service installed)

or 

dbsrvr /install

Comments

The problem was due to the inclusion of a CompareString runtime patch in 4.38 to fix text comparison performance issues when running the server as a Windows service. This patch has been removed, which results in slower, but correct, performance on all platforms.

Resolution

Fixed Problem on 5/28/2014 in version 4.39 build 2
