# 4565 ODBC Driver Not Working Properly with LibreOffice Due to Issues with Directories as Catalog Names

In LibreOffice, when I open a Table to run in the query wizard I get an error the field names from c:\etc could not be retrieved. I tried their help site but nothing for this error.

NOTE: This fix had to be reverted for incident report #4641, so the following is not accurate.

The issue was with the fact that DBISAM uses directories as database names for local access, combined with the fact that LibreOffice was trying to prefix table names with catalog names for *all* queries, even those that were simply querying the current database and didn't require the catalog name. To fix this, the DBISAM ODBC Driver now simply returns a blank catalog name for all metadata information returned that uses the same catalog name as the current database, and this fools LibreOffice into not using catalog names with queries.
