# 2158 DBCMD Server Stops Upon Accepting Connection Under Suse Linux

A customer is using Suse Linux 9.3. Every time i try to connect with the srvradmin.exe from a windows pc the dbcmd program is stopped. It's the same as if i press ctrl-Z. The server continues to work if i enter "fg 1" and i can login with srvadmin
normally.

The output at the console looks like this:

root@linux dbcmd]$ ./dbcmd

Comments Comments
Per Bernd:

"Yes the threading library is the problem. With the 2.6 kernel a new threading library (nptl) has been introduced and on some systems the program uses the wrong library.

This can be reproduced with opensuse 10 (and probably all suse distributions since 9.1). On this system even kylix doesn't run.
The solution is to add the line "export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1" to the start script."

The required modifications have been made.
