# 3056 Putting a Database in the Program Files Folder under Microsoft Vista Causes Access Denied Error

I have to put databases in the programm folder of the application. These folders are readonly (like all data in the programs path). These databases are readonly data for the application. (There will no be changes from User). If i set the attributes on EDBDatabase.EDBCat and the datafiles to readonly there is no problem, but the installer that is used dont do it allways correct.

Comments Comments and Workarounds
The developer was getting an access denied error message when trying to access the database in the Program Files folder. The problem was that EDB was not handling this situation properly and setting the database to read-only status. The workaround in this case was to set the files in the folder to read-only.
