# 3144 Cannot Rename an Indexed Column without First Dropping Index

In DBISAM i could alter a field name and it altered the index. In EDB i must first remove the index and then Alter field and readd the index.

Resolution

Fixed Problem on 2/6/2010 in version 2.03 build 9
