# 3175 ElevateDB Manager Can Raise Exception if an SQL Window is Opened with No Active Database

I decided I'd use your nifty new facility and reverse engineer the table I need to send you, opened EDBManager and immediately clicked on "New"

I was aware I wouldn't be able to use the window until I navigated to the appropriate database but thought I'd just get it open.

I got the following error message.

---------------------------
ElevateDB Manager
---------------------------
ElevateDB Error #100 There is an error in the metadata for the configuration EDBConfig (The encryption password does not match the default or current engine encryption password)
---------------------------
OK

Comments Comments and Workarounds
The parameters view on the SQL window was trying to load the available data types from the Configuration database during the SQL window creation. This has been moved to the preparation to avoid this exception. The workaround is to always make sure that an active database is selected when creating a new SQL window.
