ElevateDB 2.15 Build 3 Released
Posted by Tim Young on Thu, Jan 16 2014

ElevateDB 2.15 Build 3 is now available for download. If you're an existing customer, then you should be receiving an email shortly with download instructions.

This build contains bug fixes for several incident reports, which are detailed here.

The most notable incident report is:

# 3970 ID For Unicode Collation Set Improperly in System Configuration Collations Table

As mentioned in the incident report notes, you must make sure to take additional steps if you have altered any Unicode database objects using DDL statements since 2.15 was released:

This error affects the database catalog, so if you have altered any Unicode databases using DDL statements such as ALTER PROCEDURE, ALTER TABLE, etc. then you should re-execute these same DDL statements using 2.15 Build 3 and that will correct the issue.

The problem was caused by the internal ID used for the Unicode collation being set to 1 instead of 0. This would cause the ElevateDB Manager and other internal code that uses the Collations table for looking up collations to use the wrong collation ID. This problem did not affect ANSI databases, only Unicode databases.

ElevateDB 2.15 Released
Posted by Tim Young on Fri, Jan 3 2014

ElevateDB 2.15 is now available for download. If you're an existing customer, then you should be receiving an email shortly with download instructions.

This release includes a major change to all ElevateDB products: the ability to mix ANSI and Unicode sessions in the same executable or library. This includes the ElevateDB Manager, the ElevateDB Server (32-bit and 64-bit), the ElevateDB PHP Extension, the ElevateDB ODBC Driver (32-bit and 64-bit), and the ElevateDB .NET Data Provider.

Due to the fact that prior releases often separated the ElevateDB Manager, ElevateDB Server, and ElevateDB ODBC Driver settings by the type of executable, this change requires that you run a fix utility called "edbfixunicode.exe" in order to modify these settings so that the ANSI and Unicode settings are combined into one location. For more information on this fix utility and its usage, please review the release notes included with every product.

Information For Elevate Web Builder customers, please remember that the ElevateDB PHP products include a 50% cross-product discount that is available when adding any PHP product order to your cart.
