# 2912 Job Start Times Can Drift According to the Finish Times

I noticed a time drift in the time stamps of my JOB generated DB backups: the initial backup is performed pretty much at the scheduled time, but subsequent backup times slowly increment.

Comments Comments and Workarounds
ElevateDB was using an improper calculation to determine the scheduled start time, using absolute differences in time between the current time and the last run time instead of boundary calculations based upon the scheduling unit. Eventually this would overrun the ending time range, thus preventing the job from running properly.

Resolution Resolution
