# 3107 Running the ElevateDB Server under Windows 98 or Earlier Causes AV

Has anyone had luck running EDBSRVR under Windows 98? I am trying to and just get "This program has performed an illegal operation" and wont start.

Further to this the next error that comes up immediately after you close the illegal operation window is "Exception EInOutError in module EDBSRVR... Unable to create directory".

Comments Comments
The problem was with the common app data directory used to store the edbsrvr.ini configuration file. This has been corrected so the configuration file will be stored in the same directory as the server .exe under Windows 98 and lower.
