# 3147 Modifying the Privileges of the Logged-On User Requires Session Restart

I created a procedure that added a user to the administrator role before restructuring some tables and removed it immediately afterwards. However, I had to reconnect the session for it to pick up the permissions correctly for all of the tables. It didn't reliably give drop authority on the indexes until I closed and reopened the session

Comments Comments and Workarounds
EDB was not refreshing the effective privileges for objects when their permissions were modified. The workaround was to disconnect, and then reconnect, the session. This would cause the privileges to refresh properly for the current user.
