# 4620 Visual Studio 2017 Experiencing "Unable to Parse Query" Errors When Trying to Create Data Adapters

When I tried to add a new connection in Visual Studio 2017 and giving it a configPath and selected the database that I want to connect to. Clicked on Test Connection and a message box appeared telling me that the connection succeeded.

Then I unchecked the "Yes, save the connections as:". after clicking next I chose what objects I want in the dataset, and on clicking Finish the message box that's telling me that it was unable to parse query text appeared.

Comments Comments
When the ElevateDB DAC product installation was modified to accommodate the private registry installation requirement of Visual Studio 2017, the escaping of double-quotes changed a bit, and this resulted in Visual Studio 2017 getting the wrong identifier quote characters in its registry.
